Who I am

I’ve been in the tech field since 2009. I cut my teeth managing websites while still in college and continued in the web space until 2014 when I pivoted to focus on Android full time. Along the way I’ve developed in PHP, Javascript, Java, Kotlin, Python, Swift, and most recently Go.

I’ve progressed from an individual contractor into a team lead and now I’m an engineering manager helping my team deliver efficiently while not hating the process. I value transparency and direct communication (both ways, be blunt with me).

When I’m taking time away from the computer I enjoy being in the woods - biking and hiking help keep me grounded.

  • Android development using Kotlin and Compose as well as older apps that used Java and XML.

    iOS using Swift and Swift UI.

    Hobby project in Flutter but no professional experience.

  • Internal tooling using React and some never tools in Svelte.

    Hobby projects with HTMX.

    Appreciates vanilla JS and HTML.

  • Recent internal tooling services in Go.

    Hobby projects in Kotlin using KTOR as well as Node with Express.

    PHP in a past life.

  • I’ve operated as a one-man team, but recently I’ve enjoyed leading teams. I’ve been guild lead, a technical lead, and an engineering manager along my journey and filled many team gaps along the way
